Setting up unexpected delivery location alerts

Updated on 11 June 2026

When a delivery is completed outside of the expected delivery location, an event will be automatically created against the order.

This event can then trigger an automated alert, sent as an email or SMS notification, to any team that may need to be aware of the event having occurred.

This guide will walk you through the two required steps for setting up unexpected delivery location alerts for your Stream account:

  1. Configuring your distance threshold
  2. Setting up automated unexpected delivery location notifications

Configuring your distance threshold

To set the distance threshold for your unexpected delivery location events:

  1. Click ‘Settings’ in the main menu
  2. Click the ‘Mobile App’ tab in the sidebar
  3. Scroll down the ‘Run Options’ section
  4. Enable the checkbox for ‘Log an event when a driver is not at the correct location’
  5. Enter the ‘Distance Threshold’ in metres
  6. Click ‘Save’

Please Note

If you are an account admin and do not have access to the ‘Settings’ screen, please contact Stream Support to request access.

Setting up automated unexpected delivery location notifications

Once you’ve enabled the setting and set your distance threshold, you can then create the automated notification.

Currently, this notification needs to be configured in your account by the Stream Support team. Contact Stream Support to set up your unexpected delivery location notification.
