Stream is a ‘recognised carrier’ with eBay. As a transport and logistics management platform, our integration with eBay helps sellers who self-deliver eBay orders.
Our eBay tracking integration enables you to select Stream as a ‘Carrier’ for self-delivery orders in eBay’s Seller Hub or My eBay Sold section so that tracking events for that order can be shared between Stream and eBay.
Using the Stream to eBay tracking integration can help you keep your customers updated on the status of their order, provide valid tracking for eBay orders, minimise INR claims and losses, as well as help maintain your seller standards.
Enabling the eBay Integration
To enable the eBay tracking integration in your Stream account:
- First, you need to make sure you have an active Stream subscription. If you are not already a Stream subscriber, you can start that process by booking a demo with our team. Book My Demo
- Contact the Stream team to get the eBay integration added to your Stream account. Contact Stream
Planning correctly in Stream
For the valid tracking events to be retrieved by eBay correctly, you must ensure that the correct steps are followed in Stream.
Once each order has been processed correctly, you will be able to add the Stream Tracking ID to each order in eBay.
Please note:
- Orders MUST have been created AFTER the eBay integration has been enabled
- Orders should be added to Stream as ‘Unconfirmed’
- Ensure the following information is correct within each order:
- The order MUST have an Order Type of ‘Delivery’ (NOT ‘Collection’ or ‘Multi’)
- The order MUST have the ‘Address 4 (City)’ and ‘Country’ fields populated when the order is created
- The relevant Depot MUST have the ‘Address 4 (City) and ‘Country’ fields populated
- Change the status of the order to ‘Confirmed’ in Stream
- The order planning process MUST be completed in the expected sequence (NOT adding orders to already ‘Closed’ or ‘Departed’ runs)
Highly recommended:
To provide regular tracking updates to eBay, we recommend that goods on-hand scanning should be enabled as a minimum.

Though not essential, we would recommend using barcode scanning throughout the fulfilment process.

Adding a Tracking ID to an order in eBay Seller Hub
When you’ve created and planned your orders correctly in Stream, you can then add the relevant Tracking IDs to your orders in eBay Seller Hub.
To add a Tracking ID to your order in Seller Hub:
- Locate the order in Stream
- Find the Tracking ID for the order. This can be found on either:
- The Order Details screen
- On the ‘Order List’ export (found in Order Search reports)
- As part of the response returned to various API requests, including ‘POST Order’ and ‘GET Order Details’ (as the most common ones)
- Copy the Tracking ID
- In eBay Seller Hub, click ‘All Orders’
- Click “Add tracking number” (there are two places on every order to do this)
- Check the Buyer details, item title/image are correct for the tracking you’re about to enter
- Enter the tracking number and the carrier name (StreamTech in our case)
- Save and Continue
- Repeat step 3 through 5 if you have more than one order to dispatch
- If eBay can determine the service you’re using, they will pre-fill that information in the carrier box. Otherwise, select the name of your carrier (StreamTech) in the drop-down menu
- Once that order is dispatched in Stream, tracking updates will be retrieved by Amazon.

What do tracking updates look like in eBay?
There are three statuses in the Delivery Status Bar’ in eBay. Once the first barcode scan is captured in Stream, the ‘Shipped to Buyer’ status will turn blue.
Once the ‘scan to van’ barcode scan is captured, the second status, ‘Out for delivery’ will update and turn blue. The final status, ‘Delivered’, will update when the order has been completed and marked as delivered in Stream.
Individual tracking and order update events are also visible in the eBay order.
