From 1st July 2025, Ireland’s telecommunications regulator, ComReg, introduced new fraud prevention measures of all alphanumeric Sender IDs sending SMS text messages to Ireland.
Companies that have not registered their Sender IDs with ComReg’s Sender ID Registry from that date will have noticed that Sender IDs have been replaced with “Likely Scam” or a similar generic identifier.
From 1st October 2025, any unregistered Sender IDs will be fully blocked.
Streamtech have registered “Go2stream” as a sender ID so if you are not registered yourselves the messages will be from “Go2steam” to ensure the messages still go through.
You may have received some messages from our partner Twilio who are our OPA provider. These emails should provide a guide as to how to complete your registration.
If you have not received a message, first check your spam filter or below is our guide of how to register on the system.
How to register on the Sender ID Registry
- To register your Sender ID, navigate to the Registry Portal. Once there, select the ‘Sign Up’ option.
- Complete the form on the next page – it is worth noting that the form asks for you to provide a CRO Number as registered with the Irish Companies Registration Office. If you do not have a CRO Number, you can provide alternative evidence of company registration, including from the UK’s Companies House.
- Once completed and submitted you will be notified if your application has been successful and you’ll be prompted to create your login details.
- To add new Sender IDs once you’re logged in, select the ‘My Sender IDs’ option.
- On the next screen, select the option ‘Request New Sender IDs’ which you will find at the top right of the page.
- In the pop-up, you will be asked to enter the Sender ID set up with Stream. If you have any questions about your Sender ID, please contact the Stream support team for details.
- Next, click the ‘Assign 3rd Party’ and select ‘Streamtech’ as the Third Party Name. Then click Save.
- In the next screen you will need to select ‘Twilio Inc’ from the list of SMS Providers (OPAs) and click ‘Request’.
- You will receive email notification should your Sender ID registration be successful.
