What’s new in Stream

Vehicle bookings calendar

A calendar view has been added to vehicle details, so you can easily view bookings/ inspections / MOTs etc. for your whole fleet. The calendar view makes it easy to see completed, scheduled or missed bookings at a glance. You can export information from the bookings calendar view in exactly the same way as the list view (which is still available).

How the vehicle bookings calendar works:

Vehicle bookings calendar

In vehicle details, an option has been added to the drop-down in the overview tab, to show a calendar of all the bookings

As standard, the bookings calendar view displays by calendar month, but you can also display a weekly calendar.

Task lists per day, per week and per month (as above) can also be displayed. You can refine the view by creating a search (i.e. view bookings on the calendar for a specific vehicle, specific booking type, etc.)

Clicking on a specific day will take you to that day, clicking on a specific booking will take you to that booking.

Sorting unplanned orders

Allows for sorting unplanned orders in Stream’s advanced planning module, enabling you to sort orders with the highest service level or those orders with the bulkiest items.

Sort by clicking the appropriate column title:

  • Postcode
  • Customer name
  • Order number
  • Service level
  • Live date
  • Order size (in weight or cube)
  • Time required on site.

How sorting unplanned orders works:

Sorting works for both text and numeric fields, as well as for fields displayed only on dual monitors

Don’t text customers too early

You now have the option to prevent a text message from being sent to customers before a certain time.

For Stream Go subscribers who have SMS enabled, planners or the customer service team are able to define a time before which SMS messages to customers won’t be sent (e.g. 7 am) – this means that if a driver departs for a run very early in the morning or late at night, the customer won’t be woken by a message about their delivery.

If you would like to add the ‘do not send before’ time feature to your Stream Go account, please contact support.

Driver & vehicle assignment

Stream Go users will no longer have to view the full list of drivers and vehicles at all times in advanced planning. By default, the ‘drivers’ and ‘vehicles’ sections will only display the driver and vehicle assigned to the selected run. This improves the relevance of the screen, as the full driver and vehicle lists are hidden until you choose to view them.

Additionally, the change will improve performance when users access advanced planning and load runs.

The changes to driver and vehicle assignment:

Driver & vehicle loading in advanced planning

When a run is selected, only the assigned driver and vehicle will load in the ‘drivers’ and ‘vehicles’ sections

Only when the ‘assign’ button is clicked will the list of available drivers and vehicles become visible

Edit additional information after the order has been planned

Orders no longer need to be ‘unplanned’ before certain order information can be changed, which makes the amendment process faster, more efficient and offers greater flexibility. After an order has been planned, you are now able to make the following changes:

Edit selected fields after the order has been planned

Editing unload time or assembly time (when an order is planned / delivered)

Edit selected fields after the order has been planned

Change item and quantity (when an order is planned)

Edit selected fields after the order has been planned

Change on-hand date (when an order is planned, but no later than the run date)

Highlighting orders that are to be delivered to the same location

Users will now be able to see when multiple orders are to be delivered to the same location.

It will be easier to visualise when multiple orders may be related, so you can improve planning efficiency.

How highlighting orders for the same customer works:

Stream Go Release: linking orders for the same customer

An orange alert icon has been added to the order details screen, next to the customer field. The icon only appears for orders with multiple additional orders addressed to the same postcode

Hover over the icon to display a tooltip, showing whether the additional orders are open or delivered

Click the icon to open the order search screen, with the matching orders for that postcode listed

Highlighting can be configured to show for undelivered orders. Please contact support to turn this feature on.

Simplified action buttons

The ‘Actions’ button, next to the customer in order details, has been simplified.

Type-ahead search for SKUs

The item SKU drop-down has been updated to a type-ahead search, meaning that you can begin to enter an SKU and the search will auto-fill, instead of users having to scroll through a drop-down menu. Order details will be faster to load, improving performance.

Export vehicle details

An export button has been added to the overview in vehicle details. Fleet Managers or vehicle maintenance personnel using Stream Check are now able to export vehicle details for specific groups of vehicles.

This feature makes it easier to output data for your fleet in to an Excel spreadsheet. You have control over exactly what information is exported, making reporting much quicker and easier.

The changes to vehicle detail exporting:

Export vehicle details

An export button has been added to the overview section in vehicle details. It can be used with either the ‘vehicles view’, ‘bookings view’ or ‘defects view’ to export the corresponding details required (i.e. a list of vehicles details, fleet bookings, fleet defects)

The new export button replaces the fleet exports in the defects and reporting section.

Highlighting vehicles that have not had checks performed

An orange icon has also been added to the vehicle list to highlight those vehicles that have not had a check performed for the current day.

Email reminders & notifications for vehicle bookings

Using Stream Check, you will now receive automated advance notifications for vehicle bookings that need to be scheduled, and for booking dates that have passed without the booking being marked as complete.

  • A number of weeks or miles before a booking is due (if no booking has been scheduled or planned yet)
  • When the scheduled booked date for a booking has passed and the booking has not been marked as complete
  • When the due date/mileage for a booking has passed and the booking has not been marked as complete

If you would like to add email reminders and notifications for vehicle bookings to your Stream Check account, please contact support.
