In an industry where time is money, Stream’s latest feature release, Goods On-Hand Scanning, helps businesses reduce manual processes when goods are received into their warehouse or depot and plan onward, final mile deliveries faster and more efficiently.
Goods On-Hand Scanning is available on Stream’s Pro and Enterprise plans and is designed to streamline the receipt of goods into your warehouse and then automatically make orders available for dispatch once all items are scanned in.
This makes the whole process of logging stock at depots faster, more accurate and more efficient by replacing manual processes with an integrated digital workflow.
What is Goods On-Hand Scanning?
Goods On-Hand Scanning enables 3PL providers, wholesalers and distributors to efficiently receive stock as it arrives at their depot through barcode scanning of labels (providing Stream is aware of the barcode itself)..
Once all of the items on a particular order have been scanned, the order will automatically be made available to be assigned onto a delivery job in Stream.
What are the key benefits and use cases of Goods On-Hand Scanning?
Increased efficiency
Significantly reduce the time it takes to process incoming shipments. Instead of manually cross-referencing manifests, your team simply scans the barcode. Order items are then automatically marked as ‘on hand’ for planning final mile deliveries.
Enhanced accuracy
Minimise human error associated with manual data entry. Stream confirms the item against the expected order, ensuring you receive exactly what you should, every time.
Real-time visibility
As items are scanned, their status is immediately updated in Stream. This provides real-time stock visibility for planning, dispatch, and customer service teams.
Automated workflows
Set up automated workflows so that the ‘on hand’ date is set. You can also automatically confirm orders once all items are scanned, significantly cutting down administrative tasks.
