PROXIMITY ANNOUNCED AS A RETAIL SYSTEMS AWARD FINALIST
Proximity has been shortlisted for the Delivery Initiative of the Year in the Retail Systems Awards 2017 for Stream, a cloud-based logistics and vehicle maintenance management system.
Other companies shortlisted in the category include ArrowXL, Hermes and On The Dot.
Proximity has been shortlisted for this award thanks to their work deploying Stream as part of a new venture from An Post, the Irish Post Office and DB Schenker, who are one of the largest global transport and logistics providers.
Stream is being used to manage the backend processes of Post Logistics, an innovative national pallet collection and delivery service, that offers Irish SMEs a simple, reliable and cost-effective way to export goods across Europe.

Stream is able to offer up-to-the-moment track and trace functionality to the Irish SMEs served by Post Logistics, thanks to barcode-scanned ePODs collected by drivers with Zebra ruggedised devices, and made available in real-time via a cloud-based system. Small businesses in Ireland can now export to Europe, at minimal cost, and with full visibility over their goods throughout the end-to-end logistics process. This shortlist could not have come at a better time. We’ve launched a vehicle maintenance application, and have lots more new functionality coming to the system. This is a very exciting time for Stream.”
Now into their 12th year, the Retail Systems Awards recognise technology excellence and innovation within the retail sector. Winning entries come from retailers and technology suppliers who are leading the way in areas such as mobile, online, payments, loyalty and personalisation. This year’s winners will be announced at the Retail Systems Awards Gala Dinner & Ceremony on 19 October 2017 at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square. The event was attended by over three hundred guests in 2016 and this year is set to be bigger and better than ever.
